Heads of railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia agreed to increase freight traffic on the TITR route

Issues of growth of volumes of cargo transportation between Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia discussed at the working meeting of heads of railway administrations of K.Alpysbayev, D.’s and M. Bakhtadze in Baku.

Heads of railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia K.Alpysbayev, D.Gurbanov and M.Bakhtadze at the working meeting discussed the issues of growth volumes of cargo transportation.

During the meeting they also discussed issues of conducting flexible tariff policy for the growth of international traffic on Trans-Caspian corridor.

To ensure the growth of TITR transit agreed on a comprehensive rate and tariff in 2017. According to forecast number of container trains on this route will reach 1,000 units by 2020.

In the framework of working visit the head of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” Kanat Alpysbayev has held bilateral talks with General Director of JSC “Georgian railway” Mamuka Bakhtadze and the Chairman of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways David Gurbanov.

The sides discussed issues of further cooperation in the field of transport and logistics including railway engineering.

At the meeting with D.Gurbanov it was pointed out that this year 10 freight diesel locomotives Evolution of JSC Lokomotiv kurastyru zauty production had been sent to Azerbaijan. Next year electric locomotives of LLP Electrovoz kurastyru zauty production will begin to enter to the Azerbaijani railways. By 2019 it is planned to supply 40 locomotives.

By the results of negotiations between JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” and CJSC “Azerbaijani Railways” was signed a Memorandum on cooperation in implementing joint projects in the railway engineering industry.
