Heads of MFA and OIC welcome 1st summit on science and technology in Astana


During the session, head of the delegation from Kazakhstan, deputy minister of foreign affairs Akylbek Kamaldinov has informed the members on the realization process of several main international initiatives of Kazakhstan, announced and unanimously supported by the Islamic ummah.

Also, the delegate from Kazakhstan focused attention of the state-members of the OIC on the importance of the Islamic world leaders’ participation in the organizational work of the first in history summit on science and technologies during September 10-11 2017 in Astana.

As known, the forthcoming meeting at a high level is focused to design a strategy on the development of education and scientific and technological modernization of the Islamic world playing a role of the effective counteraction mechanism against the today’s threats.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the official delegates of the state-members and observers of the OIC, as well as the first heads of 30 main institutions of the Organization participated in the work of the high forum.

According to the results of the event, more than 100 political and other resolutions were accepted, some of them were initiated by Kazakhstan, as well as focused on wide support of international efforts of Kazakhstan in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, inter religious concord, the solutions on food safety and ecological issues of the Semipalatinsk polygon and the Aral Sea.
