Head of SCRA, advisor to Kazakh Embassy discuss implementation of new projects in field of religion

Director of the State Commission on Religious Affairs (SCRA) of the Kyrgyz Republic Zayirbek Ergeshov met with Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Kyrgyzstan Toekin Almat.

The sides discussed further joint cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum, signed in 2017, as well as the implementation of new projects in the field of religion, the press service of the SCRA said.

Almat Toekin expressed his gratitude for fruitful cooperation and interest in implementing joint projects, and invited SCRA Director Zayirbek Ergeshov to the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in Nur-Sultan in 2021.

At the meeting, Ergeshov spoke about the importance of holding an international conference on Islam and Orthodoxy to develop interfaith dialogue and interaction between the state and religious organizations.

The meeting also focused on issues of religious literacy and tolerance of the society.
