Governor of Turkestan rgn met with Japanese Ambassador
Governor of Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev received Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Kazakhstan Mr.Tatsuhiko Kasai and representatives of Kawasaki and Marubeni companies. At the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations, the press service of the Governor of Turkestan region informs.
According to the Governor, Japan is one of the important strategic partners for Kazakhstan, including Turkestan region. A large volume of herbicides is imported from the Land of the Rising Sun to the region.
I am sure that between our region and Japan there are great prospects for enhancing mutually beneficial production, trade, economic and investment cooperation. We are ready to provide full support for the implementation of joint projects, Umirzak Shukeyev said.
In addition, the head of the region spoke about the potential of Turkestan region in the field of tourism and agriculture. Thus, in the future, Kazakh and Japanese companies may be involved in the implementation of projects involving foreign partners. Kawasaki representatives proposed their technology for the construction project of a 50 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant in Turkestan. In turn, the Governor of the region noted that he appreciates the quality of Japanese technologies and offered to participate in the upcoming competitions for the construction project and wished them good luck.
It should be noted that according to the results of 8 months of this year, goods worth 513 thousand US dollars were imported from Japan to our region. Among them are cars and their components, herbicides and electrical equipment. Today in Kazakhstan, there are about 80 enterprises in industries such as oil and gas, metallurgy, finance, mining, automobile wholesale, telecommunications, logging and logistics with the participation of Japanese capital.
