Government reviews bill on amending a number of Laws and Codes of Kazakhstan

Today, the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev reviewed the bill On amendments and additions to some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on adjusting them to conform to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, drafted by order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev.

Minister of Justice M. Beketayev reported that the purpose of this bill is to bring the Legislative Acts into line with the recent amendments to the Constitution, in connection with which it is required to amend 7 Codes and 46 Laws.

Changes will be made in a number of Articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the norms of Laws on citizenship, on the legal status of foreigners, on local government and self-government, on migration of the population, on national security, and on volunteerism.

In addition, amendments will be made to the Laws “On Legal Acts”, “On Prosecutor’s Office” and the law regulating the activities of the judiciary system.
