Government of Kazakhstan optimized project for LRT construction in Nur-Sultan

Government session chaired by the Prime Minister Askar Mamin addressed the issues of livestock development, the implementation of Nurly Zher State Program and the further construction of the light rail project in Nur-Sultan.

Livestock is a leading branch of agriculture. In the first half of 2019, the growth of gross livestock production by 10.5% was ensured, the area of forage crops increased by 19% compared with the same period of 2018.

On the instructions of the First President � Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, the State Program for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex until 2021 was adopted for the qualitative development of the agricultural sector, increasing its share in the economy, said the prime minister of Kazakhstan and noted that the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has also instructed to increase labor productivity in agriculture and promote the export of processed products.

At the extended meeting of the Government that took place July 15, 2019, the Head of State set the task of attracting strategic investors in the agriculture.

Askar Mamin noted the need for active work with potential investors, creating comfortable conditions for them.

This work should be permanent. Our common goal is to achieve an annual increase in investment in the industry at a level of at least 30%. By 2020 � up to 211 billion tenge, by 2021 � 274 billion tenge, said the prime minister.

There is a high potential for increasing the volume of processing through the construction of new capacities, there is every opportunity to bring the volume of production of processed milk to 2.2 million tons by 2022.

The Ministry of Agriculture has been instructed, jointly with the Kazagro holding and business, to take concrete measures to create new productions in the field of dairy cattle breeding, domestic poultry farming, and export of halal products.

Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Roman Sklyar, Chairman of Baiterek Holding Aidar Arifkhanov, Akim of Mangistau Region Serikbai Trumov, deputy akims of Turkistan region Kosman Aitmukhametov, Almaty region � Serikzhan Beskempirov reported on the progress of the implementation of the Nurly Zher State Program.

In 2019, the construction of about 13 million square meters of housing is planned, which is 500 thousand square meters more than last year. It is planned to annually provide apartments to 6 thousand low-income families and 3 thousand working youth.

All legislative norms have been adopted, the necessary funds have been allocated, said Askar Mamin and noted the need to take exceptional measures for the introduction and redemption of the entire volume of declared socially oriented housing.

The head of the Government also stressed the need for timely preparation for the construction of housing and the provision of engineering infrastructure.

The Head of State has instructed to consolidate all existing housing programs into a single housing policy. In this regard, this year a new state program Nurly Zher will be adopted until 2025, within which around 650 thousand families or more than 2 million people will be provided with new housing, said Askar Mamin.

Akim of the capital Altai Kulginov Oreported on the issue of further construction of the light rail project in the city.

The project has been optimized, said the head of Government and noted that funds in the amount of $258 million transferred to the Bank of Astana will be returned to the Akimat for further implementation of the project, which will contribute to the development of public transport in the capital.
