Government develops a Roadmap on implementing export policy in the AIC
The Roadmap was developed for top priority products and markets of those countries that are of interest to Kazakhstan. This was reported at the Government press conference by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Issayeva.
The top priority export markets are the countries of the EAEU, PRC, Iran and Persian Gulf countries.
EAEU markets were chosen because Kazakhstani suppliers can move freely around the EAEU countries and there are no barriers for them. Kazakhstan also has some benefits on the Chinese market compared to other countries. For example, there are countries which have large production volumes and low product cost. Kazakhstan, in turn, can be competitive on the market of ecologically clean organic products. In Iran, our products under the brand name “Halal” are relevant.
We are now working with technological experts on certifying our products for compliance with the requirements of Halal, and we hope that we will become the largest suppliers of halal products to the markets of Iran and Persian Gulf countries, G. Issayeva said.
According to the Deputy Minister, there are certain types of supplies to other countries as well; however they will not provide the volumes that the Ministry of Agriculture plans for the next five-year plan.
In addition to promoting Kazakh agricultural products to foreign markets, the Roadmap aims at attracting foreign investments in the country.
In 2017 we signed agreements and already started implementing joint orders with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry for Investments and Development on accelerating work on these matters, G. Issayeva concluded.
