Deputy Finance Minister Ruslan Tatikov and Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to France Sadyk Sher-Niyaz met with Paris Club Secretary General Philippe Guyonnet Duperat and Economy and Finance Ministry’s Department Director Vincent Pringot on March 16, Tazabek reported.
The meeting was held upon initiative of Kyrgyzstan with the purpose of implementation of the initiative suggested by President Sadyr Japarov on public external debt swap for green initiatives.
The authorities of Kyrgyzstan are holding talks with all bilateral creditors suggesting to swap debts for green projects, Deputy Finance Minister Ruslan Tatikov said.
The Paris Club was invited to participate in green projects via creation of the Trust Fund in Kyrgyzstan, which would allow to make a joint contribution into improvement of the global environmental situation.
The agreement was reached with the French side about extension of a credit line for priority projects of the Kyrgyz Republic up to 60 million Euro and provision of a grant up to 500,000 Euro for preparation of feasibility studies and business plans.
