The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan cancels temporary registration for all categories of foreign citizens staying in the country for up to 30 days, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has signed the corresponding Law On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts on the Improvement of Criminal, Criminal Procedure Laws and Enhancing the Protection of Personal Rights, which will enter into force 10 days after publication in the media.

The receiving party must inform the migration service of the arrival of the foreign guest within 3 working days from the moment of entry into the country.

The notification procedure for a foreigner’s stay in Kazakhstan is as simplified as possible and does not require visits to the migration service departments.

On the visa and migration portal www.vmp.gov.kz one is suggested to:

Fill in the information about the foreigner, and, if necessary, about his children;

Sign the completed application form using EDS;

Get the finished document after 15 minutes that will be stored in one’s personal cabinet.

This service is free and has been provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2014. This year, 250 hotels took advantage of it, providing information about the stay of 110,000 foreigners.

If a foreign citizen stays in Kazakhstan for more than 30 days, the receiving party (hotels, hostels, rental apartments, medical institutions and other legal entities and individuals) must issue a guest a temporary residence permit.
