For the attention of travellers planning to visit Kazakhstan!
Please keep in mind the following sanitary and epidemiological measures enforced by respective government agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID 19).
I. If you visited China (Category One country) less than 14 days prior to your arrival to Kazakhstan, you will be placed in a designated medical institution for a 14 day isolated quarantine.
As part of the quarantine, medical officers will apply a number of regular procedures, including measuring body temperature and blood pressure. After the completion of the 14 day quarantine, medical officers will conduct daily check ups on your status and condition over the phone for the next 10 days.
If you violate the quarantine regime, you will be fined.
II. If you travel to Kazakhstan from any of the Category Two countries or areas, you will be subject to quarantine procedures at place of your residence on the territory of Kazakhstan. This limited quarantine will be in place for 14 days since the date of your arrival to the country. The quarantine procedures will include daily visits by medical officers and examinations at your place of residence, restrictions on visiting public places and contacts with other people. After the completion of the 14 day quarantine at your place of residence, medical officers will conduct daily check ups with you over the phone for the next10 days.
Category Two currently includes Singapore, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
III. If you travel to Kazakhstan from any of the Category Three countries or areas, you will be subject to a remote health monitoring process for the duration of 24 days from the date of your arrival. Medical officers will conduct daily check ups with you over the phone for 24 days since the date of your arrival.
Category Three currently includes Malaysia, Vietnam, Germany, Australia, USA, UAE, Canada, and Italy.
Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, border control agents may ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire (see sample below) at the passport control point.
If you need a visa to visit Kazakhstan, please keep in mind the following:
Kazakhstan’s diplomatic and consular posts in China suspended the issuance of Kazakhstan visas for all foreign citizens including to the citizens of China, for an indefinite period of time. The only exception is visas for official delegations;
Chinese citizens may apply for Kazakhstan visas in Kazakhstan’s diplomatic and consular posts located outside China, in other countries. Their visa applications will be accepted for consideration if the applicants have not visited China within the last 30 days.
