First meeting of Council on Relations with Compatriots Abroadphoto report
The first meeting of the Council on Relations with Compatriots Abroad under President of the Kyrgyz Republic, chaired by President Sooronbay Jeenbekov took place in Bishkek.
The Council was established by the Decree of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the decision on its creation was made following the results of the Mekendeshter2018 Forum of Compatriots.
Representatives of Kyrgyz diasporas and compatriots from Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Qatar, South Korea, the United States, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates gathered yesterday, on Aug.1 in the AlaArcha state residence to discuss with government officials issues, related to migration policy.
Addressing the Council participants, Jeenbekov told about the state policy of interaction with compatriots in foreign countries, support for their initiatives aimed at supporting the country.
The members of the Council and the participants of the meeting told the President about the problems they face abroad, such as the activities of diplomatic missions, export of products to foreign markets, visa issues, employment upon return to Kyrgyzstan, etc.
Following the meeting, the draft decision of the session was adopted, taking into account the comments and wishes expressed.

After the meeting with President Jeenbekov, the Council continued its meeting in the form of panel discussions.
