First Deputy Prime Minister visits social, industrial facilities of Baikonur, Kyzylorda
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin visited Kyzylorda region, where heard report on implementing Baiterek Kazakhstan-Russian project which will modernize ground-based space infrastructure of Baikonur Cosmodrome, Zenit space rocket complex in particular. There was also reported on utilizing the Baikonur complex facilities.
Official visit of the Head of State to Russia in December 2016 resulted in signing the Concept of further cooperation at Baikonur complex and the Protocol on Amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement on the status of the city of Baikonur, the order of formation and the status of its executive bodies as of December 23, 1995, concerning the list of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Executing the concept will enact priority directions of Kazakhstan-Russian cooperation in Baikonur complex development in the interests of both countries, will ensure prospective planning of further development of the complex and implement new joint space projects, A.Mamin noted.
The First Deputy Prime Minister visited in Kyzylorda the newly-constructed Nur Orda microdistrict, where received report on progress in housing construction in the region. 20 multi-storey houses were built there under the Regional Development 2020 program; heard a report on modernization of the main heat-supply facility of the region � Kyzylorda TPP.
A.Mamin also visited the construction site of the first in Kazakhstan float glass plant. The enterprise will be commissioned in the 2nd quarter of 2017 and will produce 200,000 tons of float, energy-saving, solar control and multifunctional glass annually.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also visited the new bridge on the Syrdarya left bank and reviewed the constructing scheme of left-bank area.
Following the working visit, A.Mamin held a meeting on the development of Kyzylorda region. K.Kosherbayev, akim of the region, reported on the results of social and economic development of the region in 2016 and prospects of development in 2017.
