First Deputy Prime Minister chairs meeting of WU-2017 safety commission
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin chaired today an Almaty-hosted meeting of the interdepartmental commission for security and order during the XXVIII World Winter Universiade 2017.
A.Mamin visited such Universiade facilities as Halyk Arena, Sunkar International Ski Jumping Complex, Athletic Village and Almaty Arena Ice Palace.
Officials of state bodies in charge of security reported on implementing the Action Plan for security and order for the period of the Universiade, January 29 � February 8.
There was reported on activities undertaken to strengthen security measures at the Universiade facilities and in Almaty, on a set of measures for the registration of Universiade guests, forming crews to accompany the participants and guests of the Universiade, strengthening road safety, creating ad hoc groups to be around the clock on all the Universiade facilities. The events will involve in total about 7,000 law enforcement officers.
The reports on the ongoing WU-related work were delivered by Almaty akim B.Baibek and Almaty region akim A.Batalov.
Concluding the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the top priority of ensuring the safety of participants and guests of the Universiade and conducting all sporting events at the highest organizational level.
