Felipe VI of Spain arrived in Kazakhstan on first official visit

The Head of State greeted the King of Spain, Felipe VI, who arrived in Kazakhstan on his first official visit.

“Since the first days of independence, Spain is very close to our country. We are proud of our good relations with Spain, a country with a great history and culture. The beginning of this cooperation was laid under the King Juan Carlos I”, the President of Kazakhstan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed gratitude to the King of Spain for all-round support of Kazakhstan in the first years of independence, as well as for assistance in the international arena.

“You supported us in chairing the OSCE, as well as in election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. We are ready to continue our cooperation”, the Head of State said.

The King of Spain thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome and congratulated our country on the opening of the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

“It is a great honor for me that my visit is taking place during the unique opening ceremony of EXPO-2017 in Astana. I congratulate you on this great event”, Felipe VI said.
