EXPO-2017 hosted the National Day of the Kingdom of Lesotho
Mokoto Hloaele noted that Lesotho has a great potential for renewable energy sources. According to him, Lesotho has good conditions for the development of solar, wind and hydropower.
“In Lesotho, there is the highest level of solar radiation in the world, the sun shines throughout the day for 10.2-13.8 hours, and in most parts of the country the sun shines 300 days a year, which can effectively be used to produce electricity, said Mokoto Hloaele.
The minister also noted that the energy sector of Lesotho relies on hydropower, biomass and oil products.
In addition, Mokoto Hloaele spoke about the energy policy of the Kingdom of Lesotho, which serves as an important tool for initiatives to achieve a 50% share of RES by 2020.
At the end of his speech, Mokoto Hloaele expressed his confidence that participation in EXPO-2017 will give new opportunities for the development and use of alternative energy sources in Lesotho.
It should be recalled that from June 10 to September 10, 2017 the International Specialized Exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017” is being held in Astana. The main theme of EXPO-2017 is Future Energy.
Tomorrow, August 1, within the framework of EXPO-2017, the National Day of the Republic of Benin will be celebrated. The official delegation will be headed by the Director of the Department of Europe in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Setchecho Christophe Dagnikhin. On August 1, the ceremony of celebrating the National Day of the Republic of Gambia will also take place. The event will be attended by the Minister of Trade of Gambia Isatou Touray and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova. On the same day in the pavilion of the PRC, the opening ceremony of the Qinghai Province Week will take place.
