A meeting of experts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states was held, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues on the preparation to the upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs, which will be held in Cholpon-Ata on Sept. 7 – 9, 2022.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Internal Affairs (police) of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Bureau for Coordinating the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime in the Territories of the Participating States CIS .

The meeting was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic – Police Colonel Adylbek Biybosunov. In his speech, he noted that the upcoming meeting of the CIS Council of ministries of internal affairs is planned to be held offline for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CIS SMIA plays a big role in peacebuilding. This position is affirmed against the backdrop of globalization, when modern challenges and threats need to be countered jointly. In this regard, the meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs / Police at the site of the CIS SMIA meets the requirements of the time and should be strengthened and developed in the future to maintain stability and peace in our region, the report said.
