EU financed 500 mln euros to develop RE

by July 24, 2017 Key Issues

Undoubtfully, there are many realized and current projects, I can mark, that during the last five years the European bank for reconstruction and development, the European investment bank financed 50 million euros to develop the projects in the sphere of clean energy, renewable sources of energy. To date, the EU focuses on the development of energy-efficiency sphere of buildings, G. Thomas said.

Besides, Gerasimos Thomas informed that the EU endeavors to become less dependent on Kazakhstan in such aspects as oil products, uranium industry and to develop renewable energy as fast as possible.

Undoubtfully, supply of uranium from Kazakhstan takes about 21% of the total volume in the EU. I cannot say if there will be further increase in supply, because there is no any precise information of the development of building of atomic power stations by any state of the EU. However, can certainly mark that supply from Kazakhstan, about 1,5 % of all supply to the states of the EU. Many projects were realized, he commended.

As was underlined by the speaker, the EU remains the largest foreign investor in Kazakhstan.
