Enterpreneurs of Uzbekistan told about business forum in Astana
“Here JSC “Sovplastital”, the first joint venture established in 1987 is presented. It specializes in manufacturing of products from plastic, porcelain, ceramics, and glass. We produce over 10 thousand items. Today the Kazakh friends were very interested, they watched and liked it very much, asked me to create a number of porcelain compositions on the theme “Kazakhstan”. I think that in the near future we will create it and submit it to the market”, – Alexander Melkumov, CEO of Sovplastital reported.
Commercial director of JV LLC “Uztex Chirchik” Ravshanbek Gulyamov represents the company “UZTEX Group”, which is a vertically integrated company consisting of 8 factories producing from spun to finished products.
“For today the total turnover of the group is over 100 million dollars, of which we export yarn, dyed yarn, knitted fabrics, ready-made knitwear, hosiery, and also new projects on terry towels”, – R. Gulyamov said.
Chori Shodiyev, Deputy Chairman of “Hunarmand” Association, spoke about an ancient product called lavkh � it is a sliding wooden stand for books, one of the most original products ever created by the Uzbek woodcarvers.
“It is made of walnut, as not from each tree strong material turns out. There are 4 secrets here. The secret is known only to the master who makes himself from scratch. This is called lavkh, they are of different sizes”, – Ch. Shodiyev said.

“It is made from a single piece of wood – a nut. It transforms from 1 to 26 positions depending on the size. We in Uzbekistan are famous for such work, because it is the most ancient art of our country. This is thought up several centuries ago. The stand can serve for books, telephones, etc.”, – woodcarver, member of the Academy of Artists of Uzbekistan Akmal Azlarov shared.
Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Affairs and Investments of JSC Holding Company Uzvinprom-Holding Adolat Vostrikova noted that Kazakhstan is a strategic partner of Uzbekistan.
“Today we participate in a wonderful business platform. Kazakhstan is our strategic partner. About 40% of the volume of products produced in Uzbekistan is exported to Kazakhstan. In our assets we have glass-container plants, therefore about 80% of the total export to Kazakhstan constitutes this position. At the same time, we have a long-standing relationship with the producers of juices, wines, we supply concentrated grape juices and wine materials, and also cognac distillates. We hope that participation in the forum will provide an opportunity to establish new business contacts and will allow developing trade and economic relations with a double and triple strength”, – A. Vostrikova noted.
Representative of the large company “UzAvto”, head of the department of JV “Uz-TongHeung Co” Sherzodbek Mullazhonov, told that apart from cars and accessories to them, the company is also engaged in production of children’s sports equipment.
“We represent “UzAvto”, which manufactures seats for “GM Uzbekistan” cars, spare parts and components for them. Also, for the development of children’s sports, we produce sports goods that contribute to youth healthy lifestyle. We expect big prospects for a part of cooperation from a forum in the sphere of automotive industry, and also sports materials. Expectations are very high, we have been preparing for a long time and we hope that our fruitful cooperation will affect the well-being of our peoples”, – Sh. Mullazhonov reported.
The company “Uzkabel” is one of the largest manufacturers of cable and wire products in the Central Asian region.
“Also in our plant varnish-and-paint products, construction chemicals are produced. Our factory is a diversification enterprise. At the business forum, we expect to find new partners and exchange experiences, and also to arrange the delivery of our products to Kazakhstan”, -Miraziz Mirkomilov, Head of the department of JV JSC “Uzkabel” declaimed.
According to Kadirberdi Niyazymbetov, Deputy CEO of Kungrad Soda Plant, the plant currently has the opportunity to expand its production volumes to 4 000 tons if there is a demand for this product in Kazakhstan.
“We represent Kungrad Soda Plant, which began its work in 2006. To date, this plant produces 200 thousand tons of calcinated soda of brand “B”, of which over 50% is used in the domestic market for the industry of Uzbekistan. About 80 thousand tons are exposed for export, of which about 45 thousand tons are mastered in the Kazakhstan’s market today. We expect increase in export to Kazakhstan as Kazakhstan uses up to 300 thousand tons of this production. The calcinated soda is generally applied in the glass industry, and also in pulp-and-paper, oil and gas, and metallurgy spheres. Has a wide range of applications. We expect that further this demand will grow and, respectively, our trade relations will become stronger”, � K. Niyazymbetov declared.
We will remind that within the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkhat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan in Astana the Kazakh-Uzbek business forum was held. It is entrusted to governments of two countries to increase commodity turnover volume to 5 billion dollars until 2020. The Kazakh and Uzbek businessmen held bilateral negotiations, and also attended the exhibition of industrial and consumer goods of Uzbekistan. 92 documents for the total amount of 840 million dollars are signed.
