Employees of the Public Catering Field Are Learning English in Astana
In preparation for EXPO-2017, the need for English language skills in public catering is acquiring special importance. Representatives of the business community of the capital are taking the initiative as a contribution to the preparations for the international exhibition.
Thus, “Astana Convention Bureau” LLP jointly with one of the training centers provided English classes for the staffs of restaurants and coffee houses free of charge. Following the results, 56 employees of the public catering sector have passed training courses. The classes were held on the basic grammatical and lexical structures for its use in the process of services provision, greeting guests, receiving orders, providing bills, conflict resolution and other situations.
The project is intended to provide classes for one waiter from each particular restaurant. In the course of the program, analysis of the basic structures of sentences in English is carried out, special vocabulary and dialogues corresponding situations in a restaurant are worked out, as noted by the organizers.
