Electricity consumers costs to be reduced by 2020

Issues of consolidating the power grid companies are regulated by the draft law On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of electric power presented by the Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev at the Government meeting.

The draft law provides the requirements for power transmission companies with the phased introduction in 2018-2022.

According to the Minister of Energy, by 2020 the number of power transmission organizations will amount to 120-130 at most, the reliability of power supply will be increased, and the consumer payments for services on transmission of electricity will be reduced.

The task of integrating the regional power grid companies with the goal indicated in the report of the Minister is set in the 51st step of the 100 Concrete Steps Nations Plan.
