EBRD experts study modernization of water supply system in Kokshetau

The group of experts from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development arrived in Kokshetau for the study of the water supply system modernization, where they met with Governor of Akmola region Sergey Kulagin.

According to Governor’s office of the region, the meeting was held under the framework agreement, concluded on April 27, 2016 in Astana between the European Bank, Governor’s Office of Akmola region and Mayor’s office of Kokshetau and “Kokshetau Su Arnasy”. The framework agreement provides the financing of the investment project “Modernization of the water supply system in Kokshetau” in the amount of 3.0 billion tenge. It should be noted that the final structure and terms of financing will be discussed by the Bank on the results of the evaluation of the project by the Bank.

At the meeting head of the expert group Nicolo de Longo said that foreign investors showed the interest in the project and began to study the modernization of the regional center of the water supply system. The Governor of the region noted he is ready to give full support to the experts in the provision of all necessary documents and materials for the audit.

“This project is of particular importance for people and all users of the regional center of potable water. Moreover, the use in the project of modern water purification technologies will help to improve the economic situation”, the Governor said.
