Deputy Prime Minister: EXPO 2017 to be affordable for socially vulnerable strata of population

Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Imangali Tasmagambetov chaired a meeting focused on EXPO 2017 cultural program.

Ministry of Culture and Sport jointly with Astana Akimat and JSC NC Astana EXPO 2017 coordinated the work on forming the cultural program of EXPO 2017.

The Vice Prime Minister laid emphasis in this regard on reducing the number of activities in order for Astana Akimat to focus on the priorities; dwelled on the task of the working staff to model the traffic flows for unloading the roads, to provide the guests high-level stay and safety, and to ensure the high-level cultural events. The emphasis was also laid on the promotion of national brands and the minimization of foreign projects to demonstrate achievements of Kazakhstan in culture and sport.

We must necessarily consider the issues of free tickets for socially vulnerable strata of the population in order for them to see a varied and interesting repertoire prepared for such a great event. This matter should be under special control. Especially those events to be carried out both by the city and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Deputy Prime Minister Imangali Tasmagambetov said.

To date, the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Astana Akimat and JSC NC Astana EXPO 2017 adopted a comprehensive program of entertainment and sporting events. It provides various cultural events: demonstrating Kazakh traditional art, theater and entertainment events, international projects, sporting and educational events.

Headquarters created for the coordination of all structures in this area is designed to work closely with the Astana Convention Bureau and the staff of JSC NC Astana EXPO 2017.

EXPO 2017 program includes a tour of La Scala theater, the exhibition of Cultural monuments of terracotta army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, Mariinsky Theater tour, Placido Domingo’s Operalia international competitions final, and the exhibition of ancient Egypts archaeological objects at the sponsors expense.
