Deputies of the Bundestag visited the facilities of EXPO-2017
Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Chairman of the Board of the National Company “Astana Expo-2017” met with German parliamentarians.
At the meeting on preparation and holding of the Exhibition, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC” Astana Expo-2017 “Akhmetzhan Yessimov informed about the final stage of the preparations for EXPO-2017. 115 countries and 21 international organizations have confirmed their participation. To date, 113 applications have been approved to hold National Days. At the moment, participating countries are actively working on the design of their national pavilions.
“The German pavilion is the largest and occupies an area of 1252 sq.m. It is located in the neighborhood with Monaco, the Netherlands and Spain. It is noteworthy that just 3 projects of German companies out of 24 will demonstrate their achievements in the pavilion “Zone of Best Practices”, which was selected by a special international commission with the participation of scientists and Nobel Prize laureates. We know the rich experience of Germany in the field of renewable energy sources and this experience will be informative and interesting for exhibitors,” Akhmetzhan Yessimov said.
In turn, the deputy of the Bundestag noted the importance of Germany’s participation in EXPO-2017 as a country supporting the use of renewable energy sources.
“Germany has experience in holding the EXPO and we are happy that we have such a good platform in Astana, where we can share our knowledge and achievements in the field of green energy. Germany will have not only the largest pavilion, but, as a rule, we are preparing a large cultural program. We want to hold 3 large-scale events, where German culture will be shown, among which the 12th of July is the national day of Germany,” Manfred Grund said.
In the future, the deputies of the Bundestag asked questions concerning logistics, security of visitors and medical care and received exhaustive answers and explanations.
After the meeting, a small excursion to the EXPO facilities was held, as well as a German pavilion where installation works on the thematic design of the exposition are held.
To date, 12.3% of the final energy consumption in Germany and 23.4% of the total power generation is provided from renewable sources, which is why the latter are one of the foundations of the economic power system.
JSC “NC” Astana EXPO-2017 “was established on January 15, 2013 to prepare and hold the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO-2017.
