The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan are held in the cities of Bucharest and Constanta from May 22 to May 26. The Turkmen delegation comprising of representatives of the Ministry of Culture, artists, scientists, professors, and journalists participates in the event.
A solemn opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Romania was held in Bucharest on May 22. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of state structures, scientific circles and creative intelligentsia of Romania, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, and the Turkmen-Romanian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The current event is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of philosopher and classical poet Magtymguly Fragi.
The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan include an international conference, an exhibition, a poetry evening, a screening of the film “Istärin”, dedicated to the great Turkmen poet. There will also be an opportunity to get acquainted with the national crafts and art, Turkmen cuisine and traditional costumes, songs and music.
An international conference was held dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi as part of the opening. Deputy Ministers of Culture of Turkmenistan and Minister of Culture of Romania, the head of the Turkmen-Romanian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group from the Romanian side, as well as diplomats, scientists, cultural and art figures noted the importance of the poetic and philosophical heritage of the poet in the development of the world classical literature.
