Dariga Nazarbayeva met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev
The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dariga Nazarbayeva, met with the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at the residence of the Chairman of the Government of Russia Gorki.
The Kazakh delegation, led by Senate Speaker Dariga Nazarbayeva, is on an official visit to Moscow.
The parties noted that an intensive political dialogue has been established between the states, deep economic ties have been built, and cooperation in all areas of cooperation is developing effectively. There is an interest in the development of industrial cooperation, the implementation of bilateral projects between Kazakhstan and Russian enterprises.
During the discussion, issues of legal support for the conditions of movement and stay of Kazakhstani citizens in Russia, changes in the status of border checkpoints, the creation of a common model Environmental Code, the ecology of landfills in Kazakhstan, as well as the problems of the distribution of water resources, including transboundary rivers, were raised.
Also during the meeting, Dariga Nazarbayeva raised the issue of the situation with the supply of Kazakh coal to Russia and Ukraine. According to the Speaker of the Senate, after the introduction of restrictions on the export of goods from Russia and transit through its territory to Ukraine, on the one hand, access to the Ukrainian market was closed for Kazakhstani enterprises, and on the other, the Russian market was significantly reduced.
Objectively, there are no other markets for Kazakhstan coal. The European destination has virtually stopped due to falling prices and rising transport costs. In such conditions, Russian measures put our coal mining enterprises on the brink of stopping, D. Nazarbayeva said.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev noted the importance of the visit of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and emphasized that the ties between Russia and Kazakhstan are wide and deep.
The Head of the Government of the Russian Federation made a special emphasis on the fact that relevant instructions were given on all the topics discussed.
The issues that were raised today will find positive solutions. I instruct my deputy Alexei Gordeev to take all necessary actions to create a joint commission on the Ural River. The existing common issues must be resolved on mutually beneficial conditions, D. Medvedev emphasized.
