In the world ranking of COVID-19 incidence Kyrgyzstan occupies the 93rd place: number of registered cases is 180 thousand, 2 thousand 622 people died, director of the Preventive Medicine Scientific and Production Association Omor Kasymov said during a briefing on Tuesday.

He added that 2.8 billion (35.3%) people in the world are vaccinated, more than 40 countries have reached 60-74% vaccination rate, and CIS countries – over 30%.

“Thus, the coronavirus infection that emerged in late 2019 is still mutating, and there’s not enough information yet to make any predictions. In this regard, the risk factors for contracting the virus increase during the fall and winter. Therefore, we must remember about preventive measures: wear masks, wash hands or use antiseptics, keep a social distance,” the specialist said.

In addition, Omor Kasymov appealed to doctors, teachers, educators and those who provide public services to the population to be vaccinated.
