Construction of modern educational and therapeutic complex starts in Batken

During a working trip to Batken Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, President Sadyr Zhaparov laid a capsule at the site of construction of the building of the educational and medical complex of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after Isa Akhunbaev in Batken, his press service said.

Speaking to local population, the president noted the importance and significance of the event for Kyrgyzstanis living in Batken Oblast.

Zhaparov noted that the center will be built as a multidisciplinary medical and diagnostic hospital, equipped with modern equipment, X-ray room, ultrasound, MRI, ECG. Moreover, a 200-seat conference hall, a 200-bed dormitory for students and a 500-bed day hospital will be built. The approximate cost of the project financed from the budget of the Medical Academy is KGS 603.5 million. Foreign investors allocated almost KGS 93 million for construction of the dormitory.

“Such complexes should be built all over Kyrgyzstan. God willing, there will be similar campuses in the center of every oblast. Along with improving infrastructure in oblasts, it is also necessary to take care of the health of citizens. Adhering to this goal, we start with Batken Oblast as the youngest one. First of all, one of the main tasks of this complex will be to take care of the health of the local population and train specialists,” Sadyr Zhaparov stressed.

After laying a capsule, the Kyrgyz leader talked to local residents who had raised questions about the region’s socio-economic situation and infrastructure.

At the end of the meeting, President Zhaparov gave a number of instructions to representatives of relevant government agencies and local authorities to address the issues raised.
