First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliev held on Monday a briefing for heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries and international organizations accredited in Bishkek, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said.

During the meeting, foreign diplomats were presented with detailed information about the course of preparation, conduction and main results of the Fourth Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia held on July 21 in Cholpon-Ata under the chairmanship of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov.

Speaking to the diplomatic corps, Nuran Niyazaliev noted that the Central Asian Summit in Cholpon-Ata clearly confirmed the strong commitment of the states in the region to create a zone of trust, peace and prosperity in their countries.

The Cholpon-Ata Consultative Meeting demonstrated the general commitment of Central Asian leaders to further strengthen cooperation on regional security issues, trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics cooperation, environmental cooperation and mitigation of climate change.

The deputy minister emphasized that the Summit was a truly historic event in the life of Central Asia in terms of its significance, content and adopted documents. For the first time, heads of Central Asian states approved conceptual documents on practical cooperation in the region: Roadmap for development of regional cooperation for 2022-2024, the Regional Program Green Agenda for Central Asia, the concept of cooperation of Central Asian states within multilateral formats, and also signed the Agreement on friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation for development of Central Asia in the XXI century.

He also pointed out that Central Asian leaders agreed to consolidate their efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region and create favorable conditions for sustainable and progressive development of countries of the region..

Niyazaliev emphasized that in the light of geopolitical turbulence and the emergence of new challenges and threats, the Cholpon-Ata Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State became a turning point in the history of the region, opening a new page in the development of regional cooperation, clearly confirming the willingness to overcome difficulties together, combine efforts, protect and promote common interests in the world arena.

For their part, representatives of the diplomatic corps congratulated the Kyrgyz side on the success of the Summit and showed great interest in regional cooperation in Central Asia.
