Cabinet Chairman and Chief of President’s Administration Akylbek Japarov held talks with the Chinese delegation led by Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Ma Xingrui. They discussed a broad range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues in the sphere of transport, logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, culture and education. The Cabinet Chairman noted a consistent development of bilateral relations built upon principle of good neighborhood, friendship, cooperation, multifaceted strategic partnership. “Development of friendly relations with China is a priority area of foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic,” Akylbek Japarov said. He added that at present the Kyrgyz side is actively working to improve the investment climate in the country and create a favorable business environment. In this context, given that China is the main trade and investment partner of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Cabinet Chairman invited public and private enterprises, companies from Xinjiang to take part in investment projects in the field of mining, agriculture, agricultural processing, energy, transport, and logistics in Kyrgyzstan. Akylbek Japarov paid special attention to issues in transport and logistics sector, in particular, creation of conditions for development of infrastructure at border crossing points, removal of restrictions that hinder dynamic and investment exchanges and creation of mutually beneficial conditions in trade. In turn, Ma Xingrui expressed his readiness to support all projects of mutual interest and noted that despite the coronavirus pandemic good indicators were achieved in mutual trade between the two countries. ‘XUAR is ready to continue making all necessary efforts to maintain the trend of growth in mutual trade, as well as to attract Chinese investments, given that all conditions have been created in the Kyrgyz Republic for comfortable doing business,’ he stressed. In conclusion, the head of the Chinese delegation invited Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov to pay a working visit to XUAR.
