Branch of Moscow State University to be built in Osh
The construction of the building for the branch of Moscow State University (MSU) will begin in Osh, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
Education Minister Kanybek Isakov met with Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko and discussed cooperation issues between the two countries in the field of education.
At the meeting they discussed the opening of the branch of the Moscow State University in Osh, issues of construction, conditions of functioning. The minister presented the architectural project of the branch of MSU, the construction of which is planned to begin within a month.
Kanybek Isakov noted the branch will train students in mathematics, applied computer science, geology, Russian language and literature. The classes will be led by teachers and specialists in the relevant fields of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
In turn, Ambassador Nikolay Udovichenko noted the need to improve the quota for Kyrgyz students to study in Russia, in order to send students to the most effective specialties.
The decision to open a branch of the Moscow State University was made in the framework of the Forum of Rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in spring this year.
Moscow State University (MSU) is a coeducational and public research university located in Moscow, Russia. It was founded on Jan. 23, 1755 by Mikhail Lomonosov (Russian polymath, scientist and writer).
According to the 2019 QS World University Rankings, it is the highest ranking Russian educational institution, and according to the Nature Index, it is highest ranking Russian university for research output.
