Boxers from Kyrgyzstan win international tournament in Russia
Kyrgyzstanis earned three medals at the International Boxing Tournament in memory of first CEO of Nadym Gazprom LLC Vladislav Strizhov, legend of the Kyrgyz boxing Orzubek Nazarov said.
The competition, attended by boxers from different regions of Russia, as well as Lithuania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Israel and Kyrgyzstan, took place in Russia’s Nadym on Nov. 28 30.
The event was opened by eminent boxing stars, including Kyrgyz boxer Orzubek Nazarov.
Domestic athletes won two gold and one bronze awards.
Azat Kubatov and Sagyn Satybaldy uulu each had three victorious fights, becoming the best in their weight categories. Bakyt Toktosun uulu took the honorary third place.
Gazprom dobycha Nadym LLC (before 2008 Nadym Gazprom) is a subsidiary of Gazprom PJSC (100%). Its main activities include production and treatment of gas, gas condensate and oil.
Orzubek Nazarov is a boxer of Uzbek/Kyrgyz ethnicity, who won the bronze medal at the 1986 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Reno. He is a former WBA Lightweight Champion.
