Bishkek Kara Balta road construction 90% completed
At the press conference at Kabar News Agency, Acting Director of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Investment Projects Implementation Unit (IPIU) Sanjar Asanaliyev told about the construction progress of the Bishkek Kara Balta road.
According to his data, the project is financed by ADB and the contractor is a Chinese company. Asanaliyev is sure that a lot of work has been done this year.
This year we have completed 90% of all work. About 25 km have been laid. In addition, 6 bridges are being constructed on the site, five of which have been completed by 90 95%. This year we will try to open the traffic one by one. We have made 5 underground passages, one more will be commissioned the next year, he noted.
The road was planned to be opened in May 2020, but due to a number of reasons construction work has been suspended.
The plot itself is heavy. When repairing, we have to deal with water pipes and sewerage pipes. In addition, people complained about the vibrations of road rollers. Another reason was that the Bank suspended funding in the middle of the year, Asanaliyev concluded.
