As part of the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the procession of the Immortal Regiment is taking place in Bishkek.
Traditionally, the march of a column of many thousands started from the Victory Park, then along the central streets of the capital and ended on the Victory Square near the Eternal Flame.
In addition, the Immortal Regiment is held throughout the country: in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Kemin, Karakol, Kara-Balta and other regions.
Kyrgyzstan joined the Immortal Regiment campaign in 2012.
Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, the Immortal Regiment action in Kyrgyzstan has been held online for the past two years.
More than 360,000 Kyrgyz people took part in this war, of which over 150,000 received high state awards for their courage and heroism, including 22 fellow countrymen became full holders of the Order of Glory, and 77 became Heroes of the Soviet Union.
More than 100,000 Kyrgyzstanis died and went missing during the Great Patriotic War.
