Bishkek hosts first inter-MFA consultations between Kyrgyzstan and Norway

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic held the first inter-ministerial consultations in the history of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the Kingdom of Norway at the level of Deputy Minister A. Madmarov and State Minister / Deputy Minister A. Halvorsen.

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway arrived in Bishkek to participate in consultations on the results of the agreements reached between Minister Aidarbekov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Soreide during the meeting in September 2019 at the UN General Assembly, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest in a bilateral, regional and multilateral format.

Following the meeting, the sides determined the agenda for the near future – agreed to continue measures to increase cooperation in priority areas, noting the further intensification of political cooperation, strengthening the legal framework for cooperation, as well as in the field of environmental protection and ecology, rehabilitation of uranium tailings, education, development of new joint projects, cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
