Beibut Atamkulov: Space technologies play a special role in the modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy
The Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry discussed the Presidential address Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global competitiveness.
Minister Beibut Atamkulov noted the within the framework of implementing main objectives set in the Address, important tasks stand before the committees and subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry. Such as developing a plan of modernization and provision of technological rearmament of defense and aerospace enterprises before 2025, implementing projects within the Digital Kazakhstan program for years 2017-2020, entering new regional markets.
In his speech, the president of JSC National Center of Space Communications Victor Lefter, expressing his support of the Address, reported that today there are 7 thousand operating satellite ground stations on the territory of Kazakhstan, the needs of 15 telecom operators and government organizations are met, and more than two hundred jobs created. Using the KazSat space communications system in the period from 2011 to the present, it was possible to provide service import substitution for the amount of 22.2 billion tenge, � V. Lefter said.
After his speech, the Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry noted that space technologies, which Kazakhstan actively develops, play an important role in the technological modernization of the economy.
The meeting participants expressed general support for the Presidential Address.
