Bakytzhan Sagintayev visits the nuclear pavilion in Astana EXPO-2017
Today, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the World of Atomic Energy pavilion located on the territory of the International Specialized Exhibition Astana Expo-2017.
The pavilion of JSC NAC KazAtomProm presents developments and achievements of the modern nuclear industry.
As part of his exhibition visit, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with Director General of Rosatom Corporation Alexey Likhachev on matters of using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation in nuclear energy, nuclear fuel cycle, and scientific, technological and innovative development.
Particular attention was paid to the Kazakh material science thermonuclear reactor “Tokamak” project.
The agreement on the joint use of the experimental complex on the basis of the Kazakhstani material science Tokamak was signed during the participation of Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev in the Summit of the CIS Heads of Governments on May 26, 2017 in Kazan. The agreement provides for cooperation in the field of research for future thermonuclear energy development.
The Kazakh thermonuclear material science project “Tokamak” is the first specialized facility for research and testing of materials for future thermonuclear, nuclear reactors and technologies.
