Bakytzhan Sagintayev to get acquainted with implementation of President’s Address in Almaty region
During his working visit, the Prime Minister will visit a number of major infrastructure facilities. On the border with China, he will inspect the work of the Nur Zholy automobile checkpoint, the checkpoint of the Khorgos International Center of Boundary Cooperation JSC and the progress in the construction of border buildings. Also, Bakytzhan Sagintayev will familiarize himself with the work of the international center boundary cooperation, which will be commissioned in 2019, and with the master plan for the development of the new city of Nurkent, designed to accommodate 100,000 people.
New objects of social and cultural infrastructure will be visited in the regional center. So, as part of the inspection of the technical school-lyceum, the Prime Minister will get acquainted with the quality of educational services and work on its further improvement in the region. The socio-economic development of the region, the implementation of the President’s Five Social Initiatives, including gas supply issues, as well as creation of the necessary conditions for attracting investments from trans-national corporations, expansion of the application of the public-private partnership principle and development of internal and external tourism will be considered in the Entrepreneurs Service Center.
Upon arrival in the region, Sagintayev examined the new terminal of Taldykorgan airport, which was put into operation this spring. The object is intended for comprehensive year-round service for passengers traveling on domestic and international airlines, as well as for those who accompany them to the airport.
In addition, akim of the Almaty region Amandyk Batalov presented projects for the development of the airport of Usharal and shore protection of Lake Alakol.
Thus, in 2017 the Akimat of the Almaty Region completed the construction of the terminal building of the Usharal Airport. Since June 2018, Astana-Usharal and Taldykorgan-Usharal flights have operated three times a week from Usharal Airport, Almaty-Usharal flights � five times a week. Currently, the runway is being reconstructed, which will allow the airport to serve Boeing class aircraft.
The complex work on infrastructure modernization continues on the development of the coast of Lake Alakol, which in 2018 was visited by more than one million tourists. In 2019, construction of water supply and drainage systems on the shores of Lake Alakol is planned: these are a sewage treatment plant with a length of 72.9 km and a water supply system for 50 km. In addition, there are plans to introduce new technologies for the construction of shore protection and mooring facilities. The fencing dam, according to the region’s akim, will make it possible to protect the inhabitants of the villages of Koktum and Akshi from the damaging effects of the waves of Lake Alakol, which is more than 2,500 people.
It should be noted that the measures taken for the development of tourist infrastructure, according to the regional akimat, since 2016 (452,000 people) allowed in to more than double the number of served tourists in Alakol district. In general, the number of tourists in the region for the year is 1.96 million.
