Bakytzhan Sagintayev presented with the most promising directions in developing the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort zone
Today, during his working visit to Akmola region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on the development of the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort zone, which discussed the most promising directions and projects in this area.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the tourism business, business associations, NCE Atameken, central state bodies, as well as local executive bodies of Akmola region.
Reports on measures to develop the tourism industry in general and in Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort zone were made by Minister of Culture and Sport Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Akim of Akmola region Malik Murzalin, as well as Acting Chairman of the Board of NCE Atameken Nurzhan Altayev.
In addition, president of the Kazakhstan Tourism Association Roza Assanbayeva and president of the Eurasian Tourism Association Rysty Karabayeva presented their vision of further prospects in this area.
Participants exchanged views on improving the environment, developing transport logistics, introducing tourism certificates, marketing support for the industry, promoting it abroad, maintaining hotels and motels in the winter season, etc.
In the course of his speech, Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that according to the instructions of the Head of State, the third modernization of the economy is taking place in Kazakhstan, within the framework of which a new growth model is being formed. However, in order to enter the top 30 most developed countries in the world, in addition to increasing the competitiveness of basic industries, it is necessary to improve other promising areas of the economy, including tourism and services.
To this end, according to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to improve the corresponding infrastructure and the level of service. In turn, the Government is also carrying out comprehensive work in this direction: in particular, a comprehensive plan for the development of the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe resort zone until 2020 was developed.
Following the results of the meeting, the state bodies were instructed to record the voiced proposals and take them into account when making changes to the current programs for the development of the tourism cluster of the region.
As part of developing the resort area, two stages of the Comprehensive Plan were implemented earlier: Stage 1 in 2012-2013, Stage 2 in 2014-2016, within which 12 billion tenge was applied, 43 activities completed.
In the current year, 5.4 billion tenge was allocated for the continued implementation of infrastructure projects.
Over the past 6 years, the number of tourists visiting Akmola region has doubled. In summer, the number of tourists is more than 500 thousand people, and about a million in a year.
Also, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, a draft of the third stage of the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe Resort Zone Development Plan for 2017-2020 was developed. Currently, the project is passing final stages of approval.
