Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan Dirk Jan Kop
During the meeting, the issues of the current state and future directions of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands were discussed.
“We are interested in the participation of the leading companies in your country in the program of industrial-innovative and infrastructure development of Kazakhstan. The Dutch industrial technology, advanced know-how and innovations are of particular interest, ” Bakhytzhan Sagintayev said.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is the largest investor in terms of direct investments into Kazakhstan’s economy and the second partner of Kazakhstan in the EU in terms of foreign trade turnover (after Italy).
According to the National Bank, Kazakhstan’s gross inflow of direct investment from the Netherlands to Kazakhstan from 2005 to the II quarter of 2016 was 61.1 billion dollars.
The volume of trade between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands amounted to 3.079 billion dollars in January-November 2016. The turnover amounted to 5.2 billion dollars (exports – 4.9 billion, import -. 0.3 billion.) in 2015.
There are 956 joint ventures in Kazakhstan; most of which are active in the field of oil and gas, geological exploration, supply of agricultural machinery and equipment, pharmaceuticals and medicine, the production of consumer goods.
The Business Council operates between the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” and the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers since 2014.
