Bakytzhan Sagintayev meets with Uzbek Ambassador Saidikram Niyazhodzhaev
Today in Ukimet Uyi, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Saidikram Niyazhodzhaev.
The meeting focused on issues of strengthening and developing a wide range of Kazakh-Uzbek relations, expanding trade-economic, regional and cross-border cooperation, implementing mutually beneficial projects in the field of transport, enhancing cooperation in science, education, culture, art, tourism and sport. The interlocutors also considered issues regarding the organization and holding of events within the framework of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan and the first Interregional Cooperation Forum between our countries.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev congratulated Saidikram Niyazhodzhaev on assuming the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that his experience, knowledge and professionalism will serve to further strengthen relations between our countries.
For reference: Commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for January-March 2018 amounted to 543.1 million USD, which is 46.1% higher than for the same period last year (371.8 million USD). Exports from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in January-March increased 55.1% and amounted to 399.9 million USD. Imports to the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Republic of Uzbekistan during this period increased 25.6% and amounted to 143.2 million USD.
Trade houses in the field of petrochemistry and supply of food products have been established and are successfully functioning. There are 1180 joint Kazakh-Uzbek enterprises on the territory of Kazakhstan.
