Bakytzhan Sagintayev meets with Director of the Estonian electronic government Academy I. Tallo
Today at Ukimet Uyi Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with Director of the Estonian electronic government Academy (e-Governance Academy) Ivar Tallo.
The meeting discussed issues of improving and further developing the e-Government in Kazakhstan.
Currently, within the framework of implementing the instructions of the Head of State given in his Address Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is developing a draft state program “Digital Kazakhstan”. Implementation of the digital transformation, including the transition to a “proactive Government”, the introduction of new technologies in the provision of public services requires an audit of the “e-Government” infrastructure.
In 1997, the Presidential Decree approved the Concept of a Single Information Space of the Republic of Kazakhstan and measures of its implementation. In accordance with the State Program “Informational Kazakhstan 2020”, the “e-Government” infrastructure has been created, over 400 state information systems have been established, more than 700 public services are provided and their number is growing every year. More than 39 million services were provided in 2016, which is 4 times more than in 2012.
Kazakhstan’s position in the UN rating on the development of e-Government has improved by 48 positions from 2008 to 2016, from 81 to 33. In the World Economic Forum’s report on network readiness index for the period from 2009 to 2016, Kazakhstan rose by 34 positions, from 73 to 39 places. Over the period from 2010 to 2016, Kazakhstan rose by 16 positions in the rating of the International Telecommunication Union on the index of the development of information and communication technologies (ICT), from 68 to 52.
