Bakytzhan Sagintayev holds a meeting of the Industrial Development Commission
Today in Ukimet Uyi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired a meeting of the Industrial Development Commission.
The meeting covered issues of long-term and consistent state policy in the sphere of industrial development. In particular, the draft Concept of Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2024 was presented for the consideration of the members of the Commission.
The main approaches, according to the Minister of Investments and Development Zh. Kassymbek, were developed in accordance with the tasks set by the Head of State in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan New Development Opportunities in the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and taking into account the main provisions of the Strategic Development Plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2025.
As is known, since 2010 the country has been pursuing an industrial policy aimed at achieving sustainable development through diversifying the economy and shifting away from commodities. The second five-year industrialization plan comes to an end in 2019. In the discussed Concept of the Third Five-Year Plan it is proposed to outline the creation of conditions for stimulating the international competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: exporting Kazakhstani goods to foreign markets, deepening industrialization, strengthening basic industries. The industrialization policy will preserve continuity and will focus on the development of manufacturing industry.
Representatives of industry associations also took part in the meeting.
