Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Kazakhstan
During the meeting, issues of further expansion of cooperation in trade, economic, financial, investment and other spheres of development of the two countries were discussed, as well as preliminary results of implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev to the UAE on January 15-16, 2017.
Currently, joint projects with the Dubai International Financial Center, the state investment and development company Abu Dhabi Mubadala, the National Nuclear Energy Corporation and other large companies of the UAE are actively being implemented in Kazakhstan.
Diplomatic relations with the UAE were established on October 1, 1992.
The UAE occupies 52nd place in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the turnover among 205 countries, including 16th out of 42 Asian countries and first place among the Arabian countries of the Gulf.
In 2016, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the UAE increased by more than three times compared to the same period in 2015 and amounted to 374.2 million dollars. In 2016, Kazakhstan’s exports to the Emirates significantly outstripped the corresponding import figures – four times.
