Bakytzhan Sagintayev gets acquainted with digitization projects of General Prosecutor’s Office of Kazakhstan
The Prosecutor General Kairat Kozhamzharov noted that the supervisory authority conducts a phased transition of criminal and administrative proceedings to the electronic format, automates the processes of registration of inspections of state bodies and the consideration of citizens’ appeals.
The main goal of the projects is to achieve maximum efficiency in protecting the rights of citizens, ensuring quick access to justice and transparency of processes.
Among the main areas of digitalization are projects: electronic criminal case, electronic appeal, unified register of administrative proceedings, unified register of subjects of objects of inspections and analytical center.
The Analytical Center project serves as an assistant to law enforcement agencies to identify the problems of the criminal situation and social tensions.
A functional assistant to the investigator with the use of artificial intelligence, which will contribute to the detection of crimes, is being implemented. The first phase of the E-Criminal Case project is being implemented in 2018 for minor offences and misconduct. In general, during the implementation of the project in electronic format, more than 12,000 criminal offenses were investigated, of which about 4,000 were sent to court.
Also, administrative proceedings in the government were automated. About 1,500 police officers are equipped with tablets and printers. About 330 thousand electronic protocols were completed.
There is also a positive effect in the business checks automation project, for the transparency of their purpose and reduction. Since the launch of one of the project modules (July 1, 2018), almost 50 thousand checks have been registered in electronic format, of which 27 thousand are against entrepreneurs. The whole process is automated and no government agency can schedule a check outside the system.
In addition, the General Prosecutor’s Office is implementing the Electronic Appeals project, which is aimed at ensuring the automation of the processes of filing and expanding applications from citizens and legal entities.
