Bakytzhan Sagintayev familiarizes with the development of the food and fish industry in the Aral Sea region
‘Today, as part of his working trip to Kyzylorda region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev got acquainted with the pace of development of the fish and food industry on the examples of a fish processing plant in the city of Aral, and Araltuz shops in the Aral region.
The fishing industry is actively developing in the Aral Sea area. There are 22 fish processing enterprises in Kyzylorda region, 4 of them export to the countries of the European Union, 3 – to China, 9 – to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
For reference: According to the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the volume of fish and fish products exports amounted to 56.5 million USD last year. In other words, ? of Kazakhstani fish is exported. At the same time, Kyzylorda region’s contribution to exports amounted to more than 12 million USD (3500 tonnes).
Bakytzhan Sagintayev familiarized himself with the production process of the Aral Fish Processing Plant, with a capacity of 6000 tonnes per year. Finished products are exported to the markets of Russia, China, Poland, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
In the second half of the day, on the example of Araltuz JSC plant, Bakytzhan Sagintayev got acquainted with the implementation of projects of the Industrial and Innovative Development State Program of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the region.
In the village of Zhaksykylysh, the sole operating iodized salt plant is the largest salt extraction and processing enterprise in the country.
Within the framework of IIDSP, the company “Araltuz” commissioned two Spanish workshops for the production of food and technical salt. The first workshop operates using European standards and produces nine types of table salt with iodine supplements. In order to expand production of technical salt, the second Spanish line was acquired in 2016 � the polymer shop. Reconstruction of the plant allowed doubling the labor productivity and providing more than 1200 people with jobs, increasing the wages of workers by 60%. The volume of production and sales also increased more than threefold, and the share of exported products reached 65%.
For reference: In 2017, Araltuz JSC produced 332 600 tonnes of products worth 3.5 billion tenge. The volume of exports for the past year amounted to 212 600 tonnes. In January-February this year, the volume of production amounted to 58 200 tonnes (637 million tenge), exports amounted to 44 400 tonnes (981.2 million tenge).
During the visit, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Araltuz D. Mukashev also told about the launch of the project for the production of soda ash.
