B.Sagintayev and A.Abdullah discussed issues of bilateral cooperation
The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian and regional security.
Kazakhstan continues to provide practical support to Afghanistan. In particular, Kazakhstan promotes initiatives aimed at the development of regional infrastructure with the participation of Afghanistan, including the expansion of the network of cross-border railway projects high-voltage power transmission line CASA-1000 and the pipeline from Central Asia to the south (TAPI).
In addition, Kazakhstan is providing technical and humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan in bilateral and multilateral formats.
At the moment, 994 Afghan students are provided with an opportunity to receive education in Kazakh higher and secondary vocational education in peace professions.
The Government of Kazakhstan has allocated 2.3 million dollars for the construction of schools, hospitals and roads in Afghanistan. Humanitarian supplies in the amount of about 20 thousand tonnes of food (worth over 17 million dollars) were also carried out.
Kazakhstan, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018, taking into account the common interests in the field of regional security, will be actively involved in matters of conflict resolution and prevention with the participation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
