Astana Will Host the First National Championship in Drones Racing

On the day of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan, December 16, the capital’s “Barys Arena” Ice Palace will host the Drone Racing Kazakhstan I National Championship.

Racers from all the regions of the country will compete for the title of the best pilot and the main prize in the amount of one million tenge. Along with the popularization of robotics unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the aim of the competitions is also to support children’s and junior scientific research activities.

Drone racing is gaining momentum and has already reached the level of the World Championship. Winning the Drone Racing Kazakhstan will give an opportunity to join the first National Team of Racers of Kazakhstan.

During the championship, an exhibition of unmanned aerial vehicles and robotics will be held. Visitors will be able to get familiar with various models of drones, learn about the structure and characteristics of UAV models, as well as to take part in workshops and to evaluate the presentation of the club of young roboteers. The championship will be closed with a spectacular show of “The Battle of Robots” and the performance of Kazakhstani pop stars.
