Astana strengthens strategic cooperation with Singapore


According to the Mayor’s Office of the city, the meeting was held within the visit of the Singapore delegation to the International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 on the eve of celebration of the National Day of Singapore.

The Mayor’s Office has told about the formation of Astana as a smart and safe city, as well as a regional international center (hub) for investors and innovations within the region (Kazakhstan, state of Central Asia, neighboring regions of the Russian Federation) by taking into account the establishment of the International finance center Astana.

Concrete projects were proposed by Kazakhstan in such directions as introduction of smart-technologies in a system of city’s plan and management in the spheres of public transport, healthcare, education, safety, transparency of work of city services.

As a result of the meeting, the sides reached concrete agreements on cooperation and joint realization of project in three directions.

The first direction is a study of Singapore experience and its introduction in Astana, regulations and organization of work on smart infrastructure, digital engineering, green building, with the use of bim-technologies (building informational modeling) in projecting, permitting building and control buildings.

In addition, the matter on green building, use of energy friendly technology was separately concerned. The green standard was designed in Singapore and a number of buildings corresponding to it to date is 33%.

The second agreement was about cooperation in the sphere of public transport, planning of road construction, parking lots, introduction of technologies in the sphere of passenger transport, creation of an integrated model of controlling over passenger transport and others.

Third is cooperation in the sphere of public healthcare with introducing smart-technologies.
