Astana International Airport to increase passenger capacity to 7.7 million a year
Today, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin inspected a process of constructing the Astana International Airport, including construction of a new terminal and reconstruction of the runway.
The facility, which is being built within Nurly Zhol program, will increase the capital airports passenger capacity from 3 to 7.7 million passengers a year, which is especially significant in the run-up to EXPO 2017.
The construction is carried out as scheduled, a new terminals frame has been mounted, and the roofing works are also completed; the works that are being currently performed include installation of the facade, apron, engineering communications, and interior decoration.
The facility is equipped with the advanced technology, which will significantly improve the service and increase aviation security. The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017s first quarter.
