Askar Zhumagaliyev appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 536 of August 29, 2017, Askar Zhumagaliyev was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Askar Zhumagaliyev was born in 1972 in the Orenburg region of the RSFSR.

He graduated from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov Military School.

Later, he graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University (Alma-Ata) with a major in Radio Communication, Broadcasting, and Television.

He received a second degree in law in the Kazakh Humanitarian Law University.

He received his Master’s degree in electronic management at the A�cole polytechnique federale de Lausanne.

In 1996-1998, he held the post of Director General of Zharyk LLP;

In 1998-1999, was sector leader of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

In 1999-2000, was chief specialist, Head of the Transport Control Committee of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

In 2000, was head of the RSE “Republic’s Center for Billing of Telecommunication Traffic”;

In 2001-2003, headed the State Communications Supervision Department, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

In 2003-2005, was Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communication;

In 2004-2005, he was acting Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communication;

In 2005-2006, was First Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communication;

In 2006, he held the post of Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communication;

In 2006-2010, was President of Kazakhtelecom JSC;

In 2010-2012, held the post of Minister of Communications and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

In 2012-2014, served as Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

In 2014, he was Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Communication and Information;

In 2014-2015, held the post of Deputy Minister of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

From 2015 to 2017, he held the post of Chairman of the Board of NAC KazAtomProm JSC.
